Jewellery Care

Taking good care of your silver jewellery is very important in order to keep it looking its best over time.

Silver is a soft metal and can be prone to damage and scratches if not properly looked after. Tarnishing, which happens as a result of oxidisation, can also occur over time giving the silver a darkened look.

Here are our top tips to for taking good care of your silver jewellery: -

  • Always be gentle and careful when putting on and taking off your jewellery.

  • Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from natural sunlight. Ideally your jewellery should be kept in an airtight bag. Each piece of jewellery should be stored separately in order to the avoid the risk of scratches.

  • Exposure to chemicals, oxygen, chlorinated water and household products can lead to your silver jewellery becoming tarnished. We recommend that you take off your jewellery before showering or doing any household work. Always let any lotions or perfume which you have applied dry first before putting on your jewellery.

  • If your silver jewellery looks like it is starting to tarnish, you can use a soft jewellery polishing cloth to polish it. Please note that if your jewellery has become heavily tarnished, you may need to visit your local jeweller to have it professionally cleaned.
